1974 Kawasaki H1E Here you see an awesome a mostly complete TITLED Kawasaki H1E garaged bike never restored. This H1 was stored in a garage way back in 1980 under a sheet not to be uncovered for 40 years, it is in great stock condition with next to no butchering you tend to see on a bike this age. It seems to be mostly complete right down to the spare plug holder and owners manual tucked away under the seat. Bike is sporting light patina throughout with no signs of sever rust or major dents. This H1 would make the perfect restoration project or just give it a good detailing and tune up and you’ll have a real head turner! Bike seems solid electrically, lights, horn and turning signal work. I put in a new battery so that I could test her out. Mechanically, the engine is in stock condition. Since it sat for so long I did bump the engine and found it was not seized and moved quite freely. I lubed up the cylinders changed the engine and 2 stroke oil and did get the bike to fire up using starting fluid. I do have a small video of it firing up for a few seconds. I did not clean or fill the tank but did clean the carbs thinking of getting her going but did not go further than that. https://youtu.be/SGGuw8KgKRM I could push the bike through the gears so as far as I can tell the transmission seems fine as much as one can tell without riding the bike. The clutch has normal tension and appears to be in order. I cannot confirm the front brake operation since there is no fluid in the master cylinder so that is one thing that Needs to be addressed. Rear brake seems fine. Seat is solid, and without rot or tares. Tank is clean on the inside and has not been coated, It has a few minor scratches here and there but has no dents and looks great for its age. I spent about an hour dusting her off and hosed her down, as you can see the paint is in really good shape on the tank with no dents, the side covers also no dents could use repainting. The chrome is in really good shape for a daily driver but does show some signs of pitting as you could image but as far as I could see has little or no dents on the fender or other body parts. The headers and exhaust are it great shape as well, no holes or major imperfections. I filled the tires up and they are holding but I would think that after 40 years must be dry rotted. Surprisingly there seems to be no rubber rot and just some surface rust in the usual areas. Overall if you are looking for a great restoration project or just something to cruise around on, this is definitely a great survivor to bring back to glory.
